In six words: turning professional knowledge into social change
Social workers are at the forefront of addressing social problems. They have the ability to identify structural flaws, welfare policies that miss the mark or issues that fall between the cracks. They also have the appropriate professional knowledge, practical experience and motivation to offer sustainable, complete and comprehensive solutions. However, many times, they lack the tools to generate the momentum for change, as well as economic resources to pave the way for it. It is this gap that the Social Change Hub strives to bridge.
Vision and goals
of the Social Change Hub
The Social Change Hub strives to effect a more just social policy in Israel, in any of the following ways:

To become a home for social workers seeking resources, support and knowledge in generating policy change, either within relevant welfare organizations or on the municipal and governmental level, by promoting new regulation and legislation.

To grow a new leadership of social workers, capable to solve systemic social problems by policy change, through the development of innovative, knowledge-based enterprises.

Encourage social work students to plan and establish social enterprises that they can continue to develop further in their professional career.

Empower the perception of ability of social workers in the public and private sectors, to bring about a desired policy change.

Consistently expand the hub's circles of impact, strengthen the ties between Tel Aviv University School of Social Work and social work professionals in the private sector, and encourage joining forces, knowledge and resources, to achieve policy change.
